Gypsy at the Peak of her Career!

The Dalmatian, also known as the English Coach Dog, was employed to keep curious onlookers from approaching horses and carriages too closely. Fire Departments often kept several of these dogs in their houses which would serve as escorts to run ahead warning pedestrians and other vehicles to clear the road and keep out of the way. Gypsy's kinder, gentler approach to the job included greeting clients, something she did as official concierge of The Carriage House Bed & Breakfast since its inception in 1992.
